Spring Place, a private club in New York, offers a chic environment for those in the film, art, and design worlds to meet, work, and play. Given the sophisticated audience, Bluarch principal Antonio Di Orono knew the venue would have to impress, supplying dramatic yet casual settings in which its clientele could gather. He looked to the rugged materials of Brutalism, employing a palette of concrete, blackened steel, white oak, and glass–softened with upholstered and wooden furniture from a variety of periods.
In a private dining room, Arne Vodder chairs flank an ebony-veneered table. Oxidized metal walls and pale wood flooring provide an industrial envelope for the proceedings. The long (long) pendant fixture combines brass and stretched fabric.
