For the design of its NYC Flagship, the Milan-based apparel and lifestyle brand Moncler reached out to the firm of Gilles & Boissier, with whom they had already worked on several shops worldwide. The result, a nod to the company’s Gallic origins, plays out like a grand Parisian apartment, with acres of marble, an abundance of carved wood, and rich colors and sumptuous textures throughout.
Part of the sales floor is styled as a library, but the vivid red wool rug feels a lot more sexy than studious. Ebonized wood tables, elegant trim, and dramatically-lit fixtures–not to mention the Steampunk mannequin in the vitrine–lend some exotic grandeur.
